Red Rocks Rocks With Carved In Stone – Vol. 2, Live at Red Rocks

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire)

Red Rocks Amphitheatre made history in 2003 as the first venue to release a CD, Carved in Stone: Volume 1, featuring live recordings of 10 artists. The follow-up live compilation CD, Carved in Stone—Volume 2, Live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, has just been released. Volume 2 also features 10 live recordings from 10 different artists who immortalized the Red Rocks concert experience between 1983 and 2003. Nine of the 10 tracks are the first-ever commercial releases of these live songs.

“There is nothing like playing Red Rocks... If music is a part of one's spiritual life, Red Rocks is Mecca, the Dome of the Rock, and St. Peter's Cathedral all in one,” said Dan Pritzker of Sonia Dada, whose live version of “Screaming John” is featured on Volume 2. “The performers feel it; the audience feels it.” “Red Rocks is unique.”

Priced at $12.99, the CD is available in Colorado at Best Buy stores, independent music vendors such as Twist & Shout, the Red Rocks Visitor Center, and all area music retailers. As with Volume 1, all net profits from Carved In Stone – Volume 2 will go to the “Preserve The Rocks Fund,” a donation-driven reserve dedicated to the rehabilitation and preservation of the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

“Red Rocks is a national treasure for music fans worldwide,” said Jack Finlaw, director of the City of Denver’s Division of Theatres & Arenas, which owns and operates Red Rocks Amphitheatre. “It is the responsibility of the City of Denver to ensure the future of Red Rocks, and the Preserve The Rocks Fund accomplishes that goal while sharing the music made in the venue through the Carved In Stone series.”

“A venue so extraordinary that it renders most visitors speechless deserves to celebrate the voices of the artists chosen for Carved In Stone – Volume 2,” said J. Erik Dyce, director of marketing for the Division of Theatres & Arenas. “They’ve translated the heart and soul of this magical place into music.”

The executive producers on Carved In Stone – Volume 2 are J. Erik Dyce of the City and County of Denver/Division of Theatres & Arenas, Trevor Pryce of Outlook Music Co., and Jeff Giarraputo of Factory Labs Inc.
